A selection of some thoughts for- and about project Kimera and the place:

– A base for exploring the surrounding area (the Etna), a base for exploring Sicily. And to put the findings directly into work. Maybe, in time, a course or program could be set up for exploring the area and making/ doing things based on those explorations.

– A reflective oasis. A place, pretty desolated, were people can come and be away from their normal setting. This helps to reflect on life and work.

– The wide stretched land provides a freedom compared to the city. Not only in mindset (physical space = mental space) but also in regulation. It would be easier to make something big and place it in the land for a while to see what is does. Or to make a fire. Because of the remoteness, things are done with the people around you on a more talkative/ negotiable (/more human) base. There is a high level of autonomy, which is possible because of the wideness of the land. This is attractive and stimulating.

– The fact of creating a space for a diversity of fields, from circus to permaculture to architecture (to maybe eventually plumbing) is great. It could make very nice situations where you have people of these different fields being there at the same time. eating together, talking, exchanging, maybe even collaborating.
